The city was bustling. But not a busy city. Like you’ll know the town if I said it…but it's not important so…
The city had the right amount of good and just the right amount of bad. No large group was upset about anything. News played the same stories over and over. It was chill.
Then, this one dude started looking through stuff. He found some shit that didn’t add up. So, he investigated.
Corpses vanishing, vegetables at hospitals, kidnappings, missing people. All of this was happening, but nothing was being done. There was no urgency to solve these cases. He dug deeper, looking for answers.
All of the missing people were within a five-year age range (19-23), gone over the last 5 years, at least 5 people a week. Over a thousand people gone, suspiciously. They were the same circumstances, in any order, every week.
He asked too many questions, according to some people.
He started getting harassed at work. Bullied. After being roofied at the Christmas party he knew he was on to something and needed to find out what it was so he could get the fuck outta there.
That’s when he got a call. It said, “You want to know the truth now?”
The line went dead and he received a link via text to an address.
Why the fuck would he go?
He hated everything already, so, why not?
